Slice the top and bottom off a pepper

With a sharp knife slice the top and bottom inch off a whole bell pepper (also known as a capsicum).


Cut the pepper

Make a lengthwise cut through the pepper.


Cut away the seeds and inner membranes

Lay the pepper out skin side down and cut away the seeds and inner membranes.


Cut into julienned pepper pieces

Turn the pepper skin-side up and make a series of fine crosswise cuts through the pepper, thus creating julienned (matchstick shaped) pepper pieces.


Dicing the pepper

To dice the pepper simply gather up 4 or 5 julienned pepper pieces and slice them into small squares.
