About yoga
Yoga
originated in India over 3000 years ago. Although there are
several distinct styles of yoga, the style familiar to most
of us in the West is called hatha yoga. This style
of yoga involves practicing a variety of static postures or
asanas. These postures stretch, strengthen and align the body,
and increase flexibility.
The
practice of yoga also helps relieve physical and emotional
stress and helps bring about a sense of inner peace, balance
and "oneness." To learn more about practicing yoga
you can go to special classes in your neighborhood or learn
positions from a book or video.
